Ok so here it goes. I am new at this so bear with me. Last month I saw a picture of a Voxbox on a fellow instagramer. I read the description and thought,
"umm, I get free stuff and all I have to do is talk about it, yes please".
So I signed up and completed some basic surgery about my likes/dislikes, hobbies, lifestyle ect. Then I received an email on April 21st that I was getting a Mary Kay Influenster Voxbox, MKGlam to be exact. I was so excited, even though I was never a fan of Mary Kay I am definitely a fan of new cosmetics and free ones at that.
Within 2 days I got a huge box in the mail, 2x the size of my ____box I pay for each month. I say down with my 2yr old and opened it like Charlie from Willy Wonka. I was stunned at the amount of stuff they sent me. All full size products too! I was trying to keep it out of my toddlers hands to take a picture and post that I received it..
So the next thing to do is test out the products and see what you think. I couldn't wait, I love trying new looks and experimenting. So that night I started with my usual routine of moisturizing and foundation. Normally I use products to contour and highlight, but I wanted to limit my product use to what I received. Here's a list of what came in the box,
Mary Kay® Bronzing Powder
Mary Kay® Translucent Loose Powder
Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
Mary Kay® Lash Love® Mascara
Mary Kay® Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black
Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in Mango Tango
Mary Kay® Translucent Loose Powder
Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist
Mary Kay® Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush
Mary Kay® Lash Love® Mascara
Mary Kay® Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black
Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in Mango Tango
I ended up using all of the Mary Kay products as well as a tinted moisturizer, and my brow kit. l contoured with only the Mary Kay Bronzing Powder, and applied a tiny bit of the Mary Kay Cream Color to the tops of my cheekbones for a highlight. I also used the Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in the centers of my bottom and top lip to give a fuller effect. Added 2 coats of the Mary Kay Love Lash Mascara after curling my lashes. Finished my look with the Mary Kay Translucent loose powder. I was really happy with the results. It gave me a fresh summer glow. The look was perfect for everyday. Just enough to bring out natural features without going overboard. Normally I use a lot more products, eyelashes, a strong brow, and accentuated cheekbones . But that's not always necessary when going grocery shopping or to buy diapers. So basically I summed up my thoughts on each of the products I was given,
So here's my thoughts on my MKGlam Voxbox from Ifluencer
1st Favorite ❤
Mary Kay Love Lash Mascara. Love the smaller bristles, evenly coated my lashes and without clumping. Brought out their length and definition. My natural lashes are long but strait. This made them really pop.
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color Apricot Twist. I like the texture and versatility of the eye cream, plus it’s staying power, but I don’t love the apricot color for myself. I found it worked extremely well as a highlighter. I applied a small amount to the top of my cheekbones, and under my brow line.
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush. I preferred it for my concealer, especially under the eyes. Also used it to outline my brows
2nd Favorite ❤
Mary Kay Translucent loose powder. Definitely helps to control the shine and gives a soft flawless finish. Locked in my look and had the air spun texture I adore.
Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with expandable brush applicator, Jet Black. It definitely stays on better than the pencil liners and it doesn’t rub off as easy. I did use my own brush because I needed something more angled
Mary Kay Bronzing Powder. A perfect color, gives a awesome summer “glow”, also great for subtle contouring
Mary Kay NourlShine Plus Lip Gloss, Mango Tango. Absolutely loved the texture and conditioning of this gloss. It wasn't sticky like most glosses, (a problem for me due to my long hair), and it's a color I would by for myself. Makes lips feel soft and moisturized not gunky.
So basically there it is. My first blog. I hope it wasn't to painful and possibly even liked. I really look forward to reviewing more product for Influenster. I highly recommend checking out their site. There really is something for everyone. Thanks for reading!
